Surveillance (Web Camera Security)
If you own your own small business, or are looking for a way to keep track of things around your house or neighborhood maybe a surveillance system is right for you. It used to be in order to have a system of your own you would have to buy thousands of dollars in equipment and deal with racks and racks of security tapes. In the digital age, however, those days are all but gone. Sure, you could still spend the big money on tapes and grainy black and white monitors, but why do that when nearly everyone has a pc? Or, at the very least, you could buy an inexpensive pc and have your own pc camera security system up and running in short order.
Not all of us are computer savvy, but when it comes to setting up a security system most of the work is already done for you. Online stores sell complete security kits for home or business at extremely reasonable rates. For under $500 you could be on your way to a very nice, multi-camera, pc based system in no time. Many of the units that cost hundreds of dollars come to you practically ready to run right out of the box. They have an installation disk for your pc, and a central hub that all of the cameras connect to. The cameras are then routed to the computer through the central hub via a usb port.
The most difficult part of the whole installation is deciding where, and how many cameras, you will be placing. Once you install the cameras in their positions, and many units are expandable up to six to eight cameras, you attach them all to the central hub and your pc based surveillance system is nearly ready to go. Once the interactive software is installed on the computer you can open up the program and right there in plain black and white you have your own pc camera security center.
Of course there are many different levels of security available for your pc, and some of them are exceptionally cheap. Some are even less than a hundred dollars. For ease of use, and reliability, though, spend a little extra money and have a reliable, affordable, pc camera security system in place.
